John A. "Jay" Nelson, Esq.
Attorney profile

John A. "Jay" Nelson, Esq.

Lead Immigration Counsel

Jay Nelson devotes his practice exclusively to U.S. immigration and nationality law. Admitted to practice in the State of Montana, he limits his work entirely to immigration matters, representing individuals, families, and businesses across a wide range of cases — from family reunification and employer sponsorship of foreign professionals to permanent residence, humanitarian relief, and U.S. citizenship.

His career is built on more than four decades in the legal profession. Before practicing law, Jay was a sales and marketing executive in legal publishing and consulting with West, LexisNexis, and Matthew Bender, where he was recognized as an award-winning representative for a consultative approach — taking time to understand each client's needs, developing practical solutions, and consistently exceeding expectations. Earlier in his career, he was also a co-founder of Inland Empire Magazine, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary serving Southern California.

Those experiences continue to shape how he practices today. Jay believes every immigration case deserves careful attention, thoughtful legal analysis, and personal service. Because these matters often involve life-changing decisions affecting families, careers, and businesses, he takes the time to understand each client's circumstances, explain the law in clear and practical terms, and develop strategies tailored to their goals — with integrity, professionalism, and compassion.

Practice limited to immigration law. Admitted in Montana; not admitted in California.
